Worn World

Clothing shields the naked body and offers hints about what we’ve lived and who we are.  Worn World considers the plight of children on six continents whose human rights to safety, security and a chance to succeed is placed in grave danger by disease, famine, drought, and wars driven by xenophobia and greed. Each piece is a tribute to millions of courageous women who even now shelter children through dangerous journeys and dangerous times. These fragile garments are made of stories. Artist Judy Anderson created a body of work to hold them. Sculptor Christopher Hecker has given them faces that mirror our own. Poet Ginny Hoyle has helped to raise their collective voice. The Arvada Center has given them wings.
